Just a little late...

Here's a few shots from Sean and Teisha's wedding in August...a little late I know but my camera wasn't working then so I didn't have any shots of my own. Enjoy! Uncle Sean's Big Day

The gorgeous flower girls...Shelby being shy and Lyndsey hamming it up- so them!

All of us...I had hoped to get one of just the 5 of us at some point during the day but my camera wasn't working so unfortunately we didn't have one- it sure would have been nice though

The First of Many...

...school programs. Shelby had her first school program at Sparta today. The kindergarteners sang Christmas songs for their families. They did a fabulous job! I believe they sang about 8 different songs, a few had hand motions, and didn't miss a beat. I'm sure they will get more elaborate as we go but for the first, it was great! Shelby acted shy when they first came out.

She quickly warmed up to it all when they started singing- notice she's playing with the string on her dress...it's still in tact here.

More singing, still playing with the strings- notice the string next to the one she has in hand

Here's our beautiful Shelby in the dress she loves to pieces literally...she played with the string so much it is now frayed- after 1 wear- so Nana is going to have to change out the ribbon so we can wear it again! Gotta love her!

FBC Family Cookie Party '09

Shelby's cookie- an assortment of everything gross (to an adult anyway)! Her next one was worse- it was covered in Nerds...yuck...but she ate it all!

Lyndsey's creation- jellybeans, marshmallows, and spiced gumdrops- yummy (gag)!

Mikey's was baby style- cookie and icing- as you can see, he was hungry and was trying to steal it from me...he thoroughly enjoyed the little bit we gave him.

Tanner and Shelby- her buddy from Bible Fellowship who also sits by her at big church now...coincidence- Mommy thinks not- I think he has a crush on her! We're just not ready for that at age 5 :)

Lyndsey and Brody enjoying their cookies together- do I notice a pattern already??? I think Daddy's in for some serious troubles later on!!! :)

A Joyful Noise

Christmas is the time for singing! Shelby had a performance in the Children's Choir program last night and did a fabulous job!! She loves to sing as everyone already knows- no matter what genre of music it might be. She did a great job and actually sang out so you could hear her. They sang "Away in a Manger" and a shortened version of "What Child is This?". The three of them were beaming ear to ear when they were finished- it was too cute!

Is this the REAL Santa?

Christmas on the Chisholm Trail

We braved the cold for an evening of fun...at least that was the plan. Dane had to work one of the booths so we thought we would go see what Christmas on the Chisholm Trail was all about and it was going to have pictures with Santa which would save a trip to the crowded mall with three children. The kids had lots of fun jumping in the bouncy house, looking at the animals in the petting zoo, riding the tractor train, and looking at the craft/vendor booths...until the sun went down. It was so cold they all turned into Popsicles and we hadn't seen Santa yet. We got some hot chocolate and visited with Dane while we waited for him to arrive. They made it through seeing Santa but that was all. I was so proud of Lyndsey this year- she actually sat in Santa's lap, told him what she wanted very specifically, and gave him a big hug. Shelby was shy telling him what she wanted but she did tell him. Michael did exactly what I thought he would- since he has a thing for long hair, he grabbed a big handful of Santa's beard and pulled it down a little which made Santa laugh. Despite all that, they took a great picture which I'll post after I get it scanned. We did have a great time despite being frozen and two of the three wore themselves out and slept on the short drive home. Mikey showing off his police badge sticker from Daddy.

Bouncing away as usual!

Notice Lyndsey's face- apparently her horn fell off on the ride and she was very upset because she didn't get to honk the whole way like she was supposed to do! Notice Shelby- turned to talk to Lyndsey about the problem because she thinks she needs to know about and fix everything!

Daddy and the kids- I love this picture!

Santa finally arrived with his fire and police escort. He rode in this old truck- pretty cool just very loud.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Today, the kids and I put up the Christmas tree. It's the first time in a LONG time that Heather didn't help me do it. The kids and I started early this morning and got it up and decorated before lunch...it was lots of work with 3 kiddos but it was lots of fun. I played Christmas music while we decorated to help put us in the spirit. The girls were great helpers- Shelby helped spread the branches while Mikey and Lyndsey supervised. By the time that was finished, Mikey had a meltdown so he went and played in the jumper while we finished up. The girls both helped put up ornaments- I had to emphasize not putting them all in the same place- at one point they each had a place with about 10 ornaments on 3 branches. Once we got them all spaced out, we turned on the lights and they were soooo excited to see it. They couldn't wait for Dane to get up so they could show him what they did.

Little Turkeys

Happy Thanksgiving from the Kantros! I hope this finds everyone well. We did a simple Thanksgiving this year- not too much of the basic Thanksgiving foods. I actually made a pumpkin pie and a pecan pie. I didn't do too bad if I say so myself. It was just us, Nana, Papa, Aunt Heather, and Uncle Chuck hanging out for some food, laughs, and football. Mikey got to enjoy the traditional Kantro baby feast of sweet potatoes and turkey baby food and some mashed potatoes (he wasn't a fan) and bananas. Like a typical guy, he had to watch football while he took his bottle. The girls furnished our decorations for lunch- Lyndsey did the artwork that was hung around the dining room and Shelby did the napkin rings for everyone that said "Happy Thanksgiving! Give thanks to God for He is good. 1 Chronicles 16:34". She colored each one and told everyone where they were supposed to sit since she set the table. She is so much like me it's not even funny! It was a great day with lots of quality family time. We have so much to be thankful for this year- new additions to the family, great friends, great jobs, and most importantly the loving God who blesses us with all of it.

Showing off their decorations in the dining room.

Shelby and Lyndsey helping clean up the dishes after lunch- I'm hoping this wellingness to help will last!

Trunk or Treat

As part of our tradition each year, we load the kids up and head to the church for Trunk or Treat. It's a safe and inviting atmosphere that the kids love! They are big enough now that we can stand back and let them go trunk to trunk and not worry. They get just enough candy so it's a good deal for all of us. Shelby did her own thing but Lyndsey decided to be shy and needed some encouragement from Aunt Heather to get started. Michael was just along for the stroll and wound up with some candy and goodies of his own. Next year, he'll be leading us around I'm sure! Waiting in line to start trunk or treating

Everyone thought Michael needed some treats of his own- if only he had some teeth!

Shelby loaded up her candy bag at this trunk

Lyndsey was afraid to go any closer- she reached as far as she could to get her candy

Brody and Lyndsey (they have been buddies for several years now-it's hard to believe he's three as well- he makes her look small)

This reminds of the Tootsie Pop commercials with the owl from back in the day:
"How many licks does it take to get to the middle of a Tootsie Pop?"

Tanner, Macie (the spider from Miss Muffett) and Michael- she's tells everyone she's his girlfriend (Macie's mommy, Angela, keeps Michael during the day for us so they know each other quite well now)

Ella (Miss Muffett) and Shelby

Happy Halloween!

The High School Musical Cheerleader with added sass!

The beautiful Tinkerbell with a "brain"(aka braid)!

The handsome little Hunny Pot!
