Afternoon Playtime

Michael has finally decided waking up for awhile is okay to do so we've been able to have floor time. Shelby and Lyndsey think that they need to play with him and his toy every time. I wonder how long this will last and what they will do when he starts messing with their toys???

I can't believe how big he's getting...almost a month old already! Where does time go?

Looking at all the toys next to me!

Kickin' and playin'!

Okay, so this one has nothing to do with playtime but isn't he the cutest thing ever?! My handsome little man! :)

A Few Pictures of Our New Cutie

I do have eyes...sorry the camera makes blurry pictures sometimes!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Shelby's Pre-K class had their PTO program last night. They did a song and dance to spring music called "April Showers Bring May Flowers." She was such a ham. She's matured and really come out of her shyness this year. Enjoy!

Group picture of the classes who performed...not a big turnout of kids...we were surprised.

The Great Debate

Okay, so everyone seems to have a different opinion of who Michael looks like- here are pictures of Dane, Shelby, and Lyndsey as babies...who does he look like to you??? Sorry, I don't have any of me as a baby or we could compare to me too!

Lyndsey

Now, you decide...who does he look like to you?

Artworks 2009

Shelby had her first piece of artwork displayed tonight at the Cultural Activities Center (CAC). It took us forever to find it but she was so excited when we finally did. She explained exactly what each part was...unfortunately, I was overwhelmed by all the people and chaos that I don't remember them all so you'll have to ask her about it.

T-ball

Here's a few pictures from the practice game.

Easter

With Michael being in the NICU, Easter was a little different this year. We enjoyed lunch with Dane's family on Saturday while Sean and Teisha were in town. The girls went to church with Grandma and Granddad while Mommy and Daddy visited Michael on Sunday. Then we went to lunch at Nana and Papa's with Aunt Heather and Uncle Chuck. Afterwards, we went to Kelly and Kathy's house for an Easter egg hunt and cook out. The girls also got to jump on the trampoline and ride horses. They had a blast! We were thankful for the opportunity to get out and let them have some fun since everything had been revolving around Michael's visiting schedule all week. They were troopers and hung in there!

He's Home!

All dressed up in my camo and overalls
After 10 long days in the NICU, Michael finally got to come home last night. His sisters were so excited, they couldn't stay away from him. Shelby stayed by his side all evening. Lyndsey watched closely for a little while, but then kept an eye from a distance. They "helped" give him his first bath since he hadn't had one since he was born. He put on a big show. Mommy learned a lot about what to do and not to do with little boys at bath time after the first go round.

Ready to go home!Meeting Shelby and Lyndsey for the first time...they came running!

He was dismissed from the hospital as a happy, healthy, term newborn which was exciting. We don't have to do anything special for him. He sees Dr. Riser tomorrow for his 2 week check up so we'll see what he weighs now and I'll update you.

He is such a sweet baby- very quiet and loving. I have to remind myself to put him down because I can sit and hold him all day like I did the girls. Dane is already telling me, "You can put him down, he's sleeping." I love having a little boy around- it gives us a good change! Trying to break the cycle of the NICU is going to be the hardest part but I think after a few days, he'll form his own schedule.

He has arrived!

Michael Leon Kantro was born Monday, April 6, 2009 at 8:50 am. He was 8 lbs. and 18 1/2 in. He is in the NICU from having too much fluid in his lungs but doing very well otherwise. We are hoping he will come home tomorrow.

Little Wildcat Easter Egg Roll

Here are a few cute shots from the Easter Egg Roll on Friday. The girls went out on the football field and hunted as many eggs as they could. They didn't really want to pick up the eggs, they were more interested in what everyone else was doing. Oh well, at least they had a good time!
