Look who lost another tooth!

First Grade, Here I Come!

Shelby "graduated" from kindergarten this morning. I wouldn't actually say it was the much anticipated graduation ceremony we hoped for- but an award ceremony with singing instead. All the kids sang a few songs and then we sat through all the children getting their awards. Shelby's class was last, so it was a long wait. They had a cute slideshow at the end and then we went to her classroom for snacks and to see more of her work from the year. I expected to be more emotional about it but really it wasn't too bad. I've come to terms with her growing up. It's when she tells me she's going to turn 7 that gets me- it just sounds so OLD! I'm very thankful for Sparta and it's wonderful staff. They made the transition to big school pain free. Shelby has matured so much this year- it's been wonderful. I look forward to next year and what Shelby will accomplish. Shelby and her classmates lining up waiting to sing- this is the best I could get- once the other kids lined up- all you saw was the top of her head

Mrs. McAllister's Kindergarten class 2009-2010

Shelby loves Mrs. McAllister- who by the way is moving up to teach first grade so we'll see if we get her another year!

A Little Bit of Lyndsey

This is what I saw when I went to get the girls' laundry basket tonight. My sweet baby girl surrounded by everything she loves. Lyndsey wants so badly to be "big" like Shelby and can't stand that she's just not at that stage in life yet. This picture encompasses all that is Lyndsey... So what exactly does she have in the bed you might ask?

  • soccer ball- the sport I hope she loves as much as she wants to play
  • tooth fairy pillow- she wants to loose her teeth like Shelby
  • I Love Animals book- she spelled "zoo" by herself to me today :)
  • monkeys storybook- she's my little climber
  • St. Patty's day bear- the day she was born
  • Tinkerbell pillow- her favorite fairy
  • Happy Flower bedding- her bestest bed
  • beanbag elephant- her favorite zoo animal

Dancing with Our Stars

This is one of my favorite things about having little girls- dance recitals. If you know me, I am by no means girlie. With the help of Nana and Aunt Heather, I have successfully brought up two very girlie girls. They love all that sparkles and shines and it shows in their personalities. Dance recital gives them the time to show them off. Lyndsey showed her natural stage presence at her first recital- she is such a ham! Shelby showed her softer, gentler, and much more methodical/perfectionist side ( I have no idea where she gets that from :) ) I loved every minute of their show and have watched it several times since. I love my baby girls! They make me proud and I am very blessed! Lyndsey hamming it up for the audience

Shelby tapping it up!

The Tooth Fairy Can Finally Come

Daddy pulled her first tooth this afternoon in the high school nurse's office. Apparently, it was pretty lose and hanging thanks to Mom sending apples the last few days in her lunchbox. So she finally gave in to let him do it. She cried a little but got over it. She can't wait to show everyone her new smile tomorrow! It won't be long before the one beside it falls out too. They came in two at a time so I'm not surprised that they are falling out the same way!Right after Daddy pulled her tooth, Nurse Penny is holding her mouth open- she even put her tooth in a treasure chest for her
Showing her new smile to Mommy when she got home!

I have one losing teeth, one wishing she could lose her teeth, and one getting teeth all at the same time!!

A Little Nighttime Magic

Shelby danced last night at the Magic Belles' Dance show (Belton High's dance team). She did a great job! They danced a hip hop style dance to "Spring Time"...super cute :)
At the beginning of the routine, shaking her hips

Kenslee and Shelby watching the helpers with the routine

Making a turn (it wasn't really a piroutte so I don't know what to call it)

Mother's Day

It's the little things we ask for...really- it doesn't have to be a big production! :)

And the Prom Queen is...

I just had to post this one! Dane helped with the high school special ed class pre-prom the Friday before the real prom. The girl with the white boa dressed him up. I love that he has a kind, caring heart to love these guys as much as I do. It's one of the many things I love about him!
